According to reports, unknown herdsmen invaded Ebonyi and attacked citizens_ 6 are confirmed dead already.
This was reported by the top Nigerian news media “The channel TV” where they detailed people’s grumbles.
The brutal attack happened in in Umuhuali, Nkalaha, Obeagu, Nkalagu, and Amazu in Ishielu Local Government Area of the southeast state which also infused the insecurity in the Nigerian peace status.
According to an eyewitness, she disclosed that the attack arose as a shock because they have been living in peace with the herdsmen. She also added that they were also astonished to have woke up with corpses.
In her words, she said:
“We have been living peacefully. Suddenly, we wake up with corpses as gifts.”
Another eyewitness added:
“There has not been a situation whereby we got into a quagmire with them, ”
Responding to this, Governor David Umahi, professed his sympathy to the deceased and ensured that he would do everything that he can to bring the perpetrators to justice amidst his grieve. He has also visited the injured and paid his condolences too.
In his words, he said:
“Good enough, we have some traces of the sponsors; we have the traces of those who came here,” the governor added. “I will not disclose it, but I am going to escalate the identities of the people to the highest authorities and we wait to see what they will do”
