A Look At Wizkid’s Spiritual Life, Journey And Passion For Music

The Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayo Ibrahim Balogun who is better referred to as Wizkid in no doubt has achieved a peak every single music star in Africa admires.

In his recent interview with The Guardian, Wizkid discussed more of his journey, his obsession with music and his spiritual life.

During the interview, the ‘Bad To Me’ crooner revealed that he is vastly a spiritual gem despite setting records in clubs around the world.

His words;

“I’m a very spiritual human being. I know I make a lot of club records but I feel like a pastor, really” 

He disclosed how he managed to convince his parents into believing in his music career after he had denied them the fate which is either professionalism centred on the medical field or law forum.

He further disclosed that music liberated him from penury and is the reason he wasn’t lured to a very awful way of living. When asked why he has maintained his consistency for a long time, he revealed that his passion for his musical career prompts such.

His words;

“Music was more than a hobby for me, more than a talent. It was my escape. I was in the hood. It was either [music] or turn to crime. That’s why I don’t joke with music”

“My parents wanted me to be a lawyer or a doctor. That was a very hard conversation to have when I said I wanted to make music. I had to just prove [myself] to them.”
