AC Milan prepare January move for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly
The Ivory Coast international started both of the Manchester United’s opening Premier League matches and only returned to the starting XI against their opponent, Newcastle United – but was substituted after just 19 minutes.
Mourinho has been critical of Bailly’s performances and hasn’t played him since that horror show against Newcastle, while he had not been even in the squad against Everton and Bournemouth.
Now, regarding ESPN Bailly is fearing for his long-term at Old Trafford and is worried that he has lost Mourinho’s faith once and for all.
Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof have already been preferred to Bailly in recent matches, handed just two minutes of game time after being reprimanded for his display against Brighton publically.
Bailly’s contract expires in the summertime of 2020 and the club has yet to initiate talks over an extension.
Instead, AC Milan are thinking about making a big-money move for the Ivorian – who Mourinho signed for £30m in his first summer at Old Trafford – when the window reopens in January.
Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to include a fresh centre-back to his ranks and had made the positioning his priority over the summertime.
He retains a pastime in both Inter defender Milan Skriniar and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, in both Inter defender Milan Tottenham’s and Skriniar Toby Alderweireld, and may give serious consideration to cashing in on Bailly to invest in a move for a fresh centre-back.
