Nigerian award-winning author and politician, Reno Omokri have opined that beating a child is a crime and shouldn’t be condoned as a barrier to disciplining a child.
He felt to oppose the belief attached to the Nigerian parents’ memories that states that beating a child when he or she goes the wrong way is the best ordeal to bring them back to the right track and detailed his reason.

Writing via his social media handle, he vowed that such a system even makes things worst.
He wrote:
“Beating children is a crime in all the Scandinavian countries. Yet, Scandinavia has the world’s lowest crime rate. If your assertion was correct, they ought to be the world headquarters for yahoo and Italy girls!”
