Nigerian Afrobeat Fuji sensation Portable has breached a new global phase that has reshaped his status so far.
The singer collaborated with the Nigerian UK-based rapper Skepta on the song ‘Tony Montana’. The song was released on March 1 and has so far attained massive streaming numbers.
This serves as Habeeb Okikiola’s first global collaboration since the core of his musical career.
Skepta, on full influence, embraced Portable’s talent after he linked up with him during an organized UK fashion show where he also gifted the singer a whooping currency.
He further linked up with the Ghanaian UK-based music producer, Jae5, and dished out a satisfying Afrobeat sound that Portable Jumped on with a peach chorus.
Since the release date of the song, it has gathered a whopping number of over 1 million views on Youtube and has also attained the first spot on the Nigerian Apple music chart, making Portable’s first global debut a memorable one.
Reacting to this milestone, Skepta took to his social media platforms and expressed his bliss while also gratifying fans for assisting them in achieving the milestone.
In his words, he simply wrote:
“Our first million of many. Thank you to everybody that got #TonyMontana on repeat”
This in no way was close to Portable’s reaction, which was termed wild. In a video that has gone viral, the singer was spotted celebrating while he adored Skepta and addressed his haters.
According to him, he has always promoted the idea that there are enormous advisers but few helpers. He identified Skepta as one of these few helpers in a video that has engulfed all the trending space on the micro-blogging platform X.
“People talked down on me but Skepta helped me. If you want to feature me on a song, you will have to lick my foot & buy me a car”

Swerving back to the visual of his song ‘Tony Montana’ directed by Capon, Portable, and Skepta, he deployed a classy perception that featured highly profiled fashion, vibes, beautiful women, and fiestas.
At the core of the visual, Skepta and Portable appeared in a heavy, hairy coat, switching to a white tuxedo as the visual clicked on.
Several sources disclosed that Skepta paid for every penny available for the production, which has left fans in awe.
This stretches to the fact that the singer has reportedly announced that he is not taking any penny from the hit song ‘Tony Montana’ as he will be pushing all the funds to Portable, who is debuting his global recognition.
This implies that all the streaming royalty, YouTube views, and other endorsements linked with the song will be directed to Portable’s financial gain as part of Skepta’s philanthropic influence on the ‘Zazu’ crooner.
In the global phase and recognition, Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr., who is popularly known as Skepta, has, since his debut in the music industry, amassed a net worth of $20 million, which has enlisted him among the richest Nigerian UK-based rappers.
Boosting Portable’s global recognition is not the first time he has deployed his influence at the Nigerian music firm.
The likes of Wizkid, Rema, and Davido have all registered songs that have crossed over 500k streams with him. He has always proved his passion for the Afrobeat genre.
