Nigerian Army have confirmed the death of Brigadier General after a heavy attack was launched by bandits to the resident of the Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday.
Public Statement issued by the Director, Army Public Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu on Saturday stated that the heavy attack thrust the Nigerian army present to involve in a gun battle which killed three soldiers and Brigadier General

The statement reads;
“A gallant senior officer, Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu, and three soldiers paid the supreme sacrifice in a very rare display of gallantry as they reinforced a counteroffensive against the terrorists, and successfully defended the location. The family of the senior officer and soldiers have been contacted.”
“The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya deeply commiserates with the families and relations of the fallen heroes. He has also directed that the troops continue in the ferocious counteroffensive and hot pursuit to eliminate the remnant of the fleeing terrorists.”
Nigerians are currently mourning the death of the loyal servant as they pay homage for his efforts.
