Abia State Police has arrested Obinna Nwatu who faked his abduction because his mother was alleged to be stingy.
The 17-year-old boy faked his abduction and demanded a 6 million ransom following how his parents has allegedly failed to provide for him.

It was believed that the young boy had on September 18, 2021, lodged in an undisclosed hotel and pressured his mother Rose Nwatu of being kidnapped and demanded a 6 million ransom.
However, while the police paraded him, his sister revealed that Obinna told them that he was kidnapped along Stadium road, Okpuala Ngwa just a few minutes he was sent to buy a recharge card.
She immediately reported to the police which got his mother in a panic. The woman according to Obinna transferred a great sum of money to Obinna’s operative account who is known as Favour.
Favour received a sum of 200k acting as the kidnapper of Obinna who has been detained by the police force.
He also disclosed that he knows nothing about Favour revealing that they knew each other from Facebook.
