The English Premier League Champions, Manchester City brutally wrecked Sporting dream to excel to the next round after goals from Mahrez, Bernado Silver, Sterling and Foden thrashed them in a 5-0 victory.
Roberto Firmino and Mohammed Salah late goals against Inter Milan helped staked them as the favourite to excel in the next round between the two giant clubs.
Paris Saint-German also snatched a win from Real Madrid who suffered 1-0 lost from the French nightmare Kylian Mbappe.
