The federal government has threatened to suspend all the social media platform in Nigeria_ says it’s the medium where the Nigerian enemies are eating up the buoyancy and union of the nation through inflammatory statements or posts.

The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed opened up on the grieve of the federal government while answering some questions from the press in Abuja.

According to him, he vowed that Twitter was staked for people who strive to destabilise Nigeria via their awful activities.

He also added that the reason the federal government suspended Twitter was that it was promoting disunity.

In his words, he said:

“We tried to but they rebuffed us. They are not known to us. They are not registered, but we hope we will be able to engage them

“There was no intention of the federal government to stifle free speech in the country. The only reason we suspended Twitter is that it was promoting disunity. Its activities are inimical to the unity of the country.”
