Popular Nigerian Islamic cleric, Gumi has condemned the killing of a Sokoto Student, Deborah Samuel Yakubu who allegedly condoned blasphemy.
Deborah Samuel Yakubu was brutally stoned and burnt to death by her fellow Islamic believers who paraded that she deserved to die because she mocked the Islamic holy prophet, Mohammed.

Despite several supportive opinion uttered by popular Nigerian Islamic believers, their top cleric, Gumi has condemned the killing.
According to him, he revealed that Prophet Muhammed never killed anyone who mocked him and vowed that the victims who murdered the young lady will not smell the fragrance of Paradise for 40 years.
He said:
“Anyone who kills a non-Muslim who they have agreed to live peacefully with, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise for 40 years.
“If we think by killing Deborah, people who are not of the same faith with us will stop insulting our prophet, then we are in delusion.”
